Even my dog knows the value of saving for the future

Each day before I leave for work, I give my dog a rawhide. And, each day he saves it until after I get home and we've gone for our walk. I used to think it was just an amusing quirk of his, but maybe I should give him more credit. Perhaps somewhere in his doggy brain, he realizes that I possibly won't come home again--better to squirrel a little something away, just in case.
