Ebay etc.
Not terribly thrilled with how the Ebay stuff has been going. The two Old Navy down vests netted about $5 each. Sadly, the J. Crew skirt didn't sell. I have two more items on for another few days, but no watchers yet. Fine, gimme the tax deduction.
I've been doing homework for my Professional Investigation class for the past few nights. We had a take-home exam for the first module, which was an overview of the "component method" that's used in modern investigations. We had to create an investigation journal based on sample data, and critique an example of a Report of Investigation. For extra credit, we could identify any "loose ends" or inconsistencies within that report. I'm finally done, and I'm tired (but I also feel happy and smart). Our next module covers in-depth Investigative Research Techniques--I'm practically salivating in anticipation.
What does this have to do with my finances? Well, if you'll recall I put this class on my credit card. I'm happy to report that since then (January 26th), I have paid $1150 towards that card!

Woo Hoo! Way to stay on top of that credit card balance!
Don't despair on the eBay front, sometimes you have a bidding war and sometimes you don't. I try not to focus too much on the per auction result, but rather on a cumulative result (5 out of six successfully sold and total net was X, blah, blah). Hopefully when you look back at how many items you cleaned out of your house and how much you made it will all net out favorably.
$5? That's barely worth a drive to the PO. Definitely go for the tax deduction! Use a program like DeductionPro to wring every last penny out of it.
I rather agree, though I'm going to try to view this whole Ebay experience in a cumulative result, as Jane suggests. Luckily, some Old Navy jeans sold for $26, which nearly makes up for the rest. I'm not even sure I paid that much for them. Now we're talking!
I'll look into the software you mentioned; I'm not familiar with it.
