Failure
The sweater you see below was my first "real" knitting project, after the obligatory scarves and hats. It took me a year.
I had to rip out and reknit several rows on a couple of occasions, causing me to refer to it as "That Blasted Blue Sweater" whenever knitting pals asked how things were going.
Alas, when it was done, I found it was too small in the shoulders, in addition to being so itchy I could barely stand to have it on.
Ebay was out of the question. It would have broken my heart had it sold for a pittance, or worse, not sold at all.
What to do, then?
It went out in a bag of items for charity this morning.
At least I have this picture to remember it by.

Looks good, but I'm glad we don't still make clothes by hand. I'd be hard pressed to make it a year between new shirts! :)
Yes, I believe making one's own clothing should ONLY be considered a hobby. These days it's neither efficient nor economical.
Thanks for the comment; I have added you to my ever-expanding blogroll!
