Sigh...I wasted $11.96

...because I got impatient. I knew I should wait at least a month to order my credit score, to allow enough time for the credit bureaus to get wind of the big debt pay-off. A customer service representative at Chase even told me that they update the bureaus monthly. But could I wait? No. My report wasn't updated; to add insult to injury, my score had even fallen to 718 from 724 in September, due to the amount of debt I'd been carrying.

...at least I didn't order all three, and at least I hunted around for a discount code for myfico.com. I didn't know about the codes; it never struck me as the type of site to offer discounts. I think I have Cap to thank for that tip, but I can't find it on his site to link to directly. If it was someone else, and you're reading this, please let me know. The code in the entry I read was no longer working, but I found another one by searching for "+myfico +discount +codes" in Google.

My Violight stopped working, and the company offered to send me a bulb for free to see if that was the issue. The bulbs normally retail for $11.95, so you could say I've broken even after all is said and done, but I could have been $11.95 ahead. Grrr.
