Sunny Sunday
Today I sat out in the sun on the deck with a new knitting project. The lounger I dragged out specifically for the dog was found to be lacking; instead he squeezed into mine with me. I don't know if it's a universal phenomenon, but my dog always smells really good when his fur is warmed by the sun. I kept leaning over and sticking my nose in his neck--probably not the best idea, seeing that one of the ingredients in my biweekly allergy shots is dog dander. I feel fine, though.
A trusted source says I'm not "living in the moment," and I think she's right. I've stopped cooking, gardening, cleaning the house, reading fiction. Instead I've been shopping. I'm going to work on that. I can't wait for next weekend--it's a three-day weekend and I don't have class. I'm going to get out in the yard, pick up the branches and leaves, and see how the perennials I planted last summer weathered the winter.
