A trip to the dollar store

There are a number of dollar stores in the town where I live. In my town in Massachusetts, there was only one, and while deals could occasionally be found, it was a fairly depressing place to shop in. I think I went in it twice.

Today I tried a Dollar Tree store. It was clean and neat and comfortable to shop in, and I walked out with the following:

A scientific calculator
A pedometer (I've been wanting to try one)
A jug of bleach
A large squeaky plush toy for the dog
4 packages of ramen noodles
A bottle of Heinz ketchup
A box of band-aids

Total spent: $6.73, including tax!

I love my pedometer and it made me realize unless I do cardio I don't get my 10,000 steps daily.

You got taken on the ramen noodles, you can get a package of noodles at a supermarket anywhere from 12 to 20 cents each.

Quite a haul! There's a Family Dollar on my way home from the train station and it's dangerous because I always find myself heading for the toy aisle for my two year old.

I love my dollar store in Denver. I am constantly finding good bargains. I got my ipod cover there when Target was selling them for $20. I also picked up a universal remote for a hand me down VCR. I must say I was surprised when not only did it work, but well, and synched up with my dvd player, vcr and tv! Probably my best buy this month ;)
