More From the Crafts Department

I had a beautiful dishtowel I could never imagine using for its intended purpose. Today, I put it to use as a sewing machine cover. It's super easy to make. You just need a dishtowel and four lengths of twill tape 13-14 inches long.

I found some twill tape in my jar of string, where I stash bows, the handles of shopping bags, etc. From the large amount of silvery string in the jar, one can gather that J does a lot of shopping at the Apple store:

To make the cover, sew each piece of twill tape on the long side of the towel, about 5.5 inches from the corners, and voila!

I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I got it from Martha Stewart. I am the World's Least Imaginative Person when it comes to crafts. I keep hoping that by looking at crafts magazines, something will eventually rub off.
